ABOUT ME
I am a third year linguistics major at the University of Florida. I was born in Boca Raton but my parents immigrated here from North India in the early 1990s. My interest in languages and linguistics were partially inspired by my experiences travelling to India and understanding Hindi and Punjabi without being able to speak either. This led me to begin considering the impact that language acquisition can have on personal and cultural identity, as I never felt fully immersed in Indian culture. As such, it is a great honor to be researching the connection between brain structure and bilingualism in the Brain, Language and Bilingualism Lab (BLaB Lab) under the direction of Dr. Rossi and discovering more about the fascinating phenomenon of language.
